sailing holiday in the hearth of Brittany

Atlantic ocean

Vannes > Ile de Groix > Concarneau > Les Glénans > Belle-île > Saint Nazaire

When you arrive, the Oosterschelde will be anchored at Port Blanc. The crew will bring you on board with the dinghy. This week we make a journey that will end at the mouth of the Loire, in St Nazaire. The distance between Vannes and St Nazaire is not great. So we have the whole week to discover the beautiful Breton coast. And that is worth it because not only are there beautiful historic harbors that we can visit, there are also many small and larger islands where we can anchor and while we are here we certainly also want to have the chance to do something taste the local cuisine. So it will be a week in which we will alternate sailing with the ship with visits to the most beautiful places in this area.

The captain makes a plan based on the multi-day forecast. The first night we may drop anchor at Belle le. Shall we then sail south via île de Noirmoutier, towards La Rochelle? Or should we first take a look in the north at Lorient, Île de Groix or Concarneau? We let the weather (and the captain) decide and enjoy our voyage of discovery.

This sailing trip is suitable for anyone in good health. For example, we sail in a sheltered area or close to the coast. In heavy weather or if necessary, the ship can be in port within 24 hours or opt for a more sheltered route.

Oosterschelde

Year of Construction 1917

Sailing along on a tall ship is a special experience. The Oosterschelde sailing ship has been sailing the 7 seas since 1917. Today you can sail on a sailing cruise in modern comfort. The sailingship is 50m long and offers a multi-day sailing holiday with 24 guests. With 3 masts and many sails we try to provide sustainable island hopping and ocean crossing. The huge salon and the cozy cabins will put you in a holiday mood. She prefers to sail to the Azores and sail in Cape Verde.
