THE MALTESE ARCHIPELAGO

This voyage shows the Mediterranean at its best. From Malta the Kairós sails to the turquoise paradise of Comino and to Gozo, the green sister island, and back again.

By day you swim in hidden bays such as the Blue Lagoon; in the evening you stroll through historic streets or enjoy the calm under the stars on deck. A fine combination of active relaxation and Mediterranean joie de vivre.

THE ROUTE

Malta

Boarding in Vittoriosa, opposite Valletta.

Comino and Gozo

The Blue Lagoon and the cliffs and bays of Gozo.

Back to Malta

Along the Maltese coast back to the Grand Harbour.

EXTRA INFORMATION

LIFE ON BOARD

The Kairós is a 38-metre steel staysail schooner, built in 2007 in the style of a classic yacht and designed by Klaus Röder. She carries 556 m² of sail and sails as a passenger ship under the Maltese flag. A permanent crew of six (captain, mate-engineer, bosun, cook and two stewardesses) looks after the ship and after you. With eight cabins and at most twelve guests it feels like sailing on a large private yacht. Six A cabins of 10 to 11 m² have a fixed double bed and a private bathroom with shower cubicle; the two B cabins of 8 to 9 m² have a small double bed or bunk beds and a private bathroom with classic yacht shower. Every cabin has adjustable air conditioning, a wardrobe, towels and a hair dryer. On deck there is plenty of room to sit and sunbathe, below deck a cosy saloon with bar. The pace is relaxed: sailing by day from bay to bay or island to island, with time to swim from the ship, go ashore and enjoy the deck. You are always welcome to help with the sails, but you do not have to. The route is indicative and depends on wind and weather.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. The permanent crew sails the ship; you may help, but you do not have to.

Do we go ashore every day?

Usually, but wind and weather decide the programme. There is also plenty of time to swim from the ship.
