THREE ISLANDS, THREE CHARACTERS

On this short round trip you discover three very different islands. St Martin is half French, half Dutch, with a lively mix of cultures. Anguilla, British and quiet, has some of the finest beaches in the Caribbean.

Saba is the opposite: a steep volcano without a beach, with rainforest, footpaths and a protected marine park. It is a favourite with divers and nature lovers.

THE ROUTE

St Martin

Boarding in Marigot on the French side.

Anguilla

Swimming and snorkelling at the beaches and reefs of Anguilla.

Saba and back

A walk on the volcanic island and back to St Martin.

EXTRA INFORMATION

LIFE ON BOARD

The Kairós is a 38-metre steel staysail schooner, built in 2007 in the style of a classic yacht and designed by Klaus Röder. She carries 556 m² of sail and sails as a passenger ship under the Maltese flag. A permanent crew of six (captain, mate-engineer, bosun, cook and two stewardesses) looks after the ship and after you. With eight cabins and at most twelve guests it feels like sailing on a large private yacht. Six A cabins of 10 to 11 m² have a fixed double bed and a private bathroom with shower cubicle; the two B cabins of 8 to 9 m² have a small double bed or bunk beds and a private bathroom with classic yacht shower. Every cabin has adjustable air conditioning, a wardrobe, towels and a hair dryer. On deck there is plenty of room to sit and sunbathe, below deck a cosy saloon with bar. The pace is relaxed: sailing by day from bay to bay or island to island, with time to swim from the ship, go ashore and enjoy the deck. You are always welcome to help with the sails, but you do not have to. The route is indicative and depends on wind and weather.

WHO IS THIS VOYAGE FOR

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to be able to sail?

No. The permanent crew sails the ship; you may help, but you do not have to.

Do we go ashore every day?

Usually, but wind and weather decide the programme. There is also plenty of time to swim from the ship.

How do I book this trip?
