Scandinavian cruise from Denmark to Norway
Starting from Copenhagen, we will sail northwards along the 12th meridian. On this summer taster cruise between Denmark and Norway, we will explore the scenic coastline of the Danish island of Zealand, Sweden's western archipelago and the Inner Oslofjord. Experienced sailors and Scandinavia enthusiasts consider these waters to be among the most beautiful of the Baltic Sea. Days at sea alternate with nights at the sheltered mooring or in the port. The sailing trip ends in Norway's capital Oslo. Enjoy a relaxing week on board – no previous knowledge or experience is required for sailing on our windjammer.

This is where you will embark: Copenhagen / Denmark
Our summer cruise under sails starts in Denmark's capital Copenhagen. The Scandinavian metropolis can easily be reached from many international airports by daily flights. We are happy to assist you with the individual planning of your arrival and departure. If you have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible. Embarkation takes place at 19:00 hours. Afterwards, you will have dinner together in the comfortable lounge, where you will quickly feel at home on the Eye of the Wind's deck and get to know your fellow sailors.
Make the most of your stay by exploring Copenhagen. If you want to get an overview of the city, it is best to visit the centrally located Rådhusplads (town hall square) first. From the 100-metre-high town hall tower, you can enjoy a bird's eye view of the whole city. In the vintage amusement park of Tivoli, you will find merry-go-rounds, a big wheel, a variety of restaurants, an open-air theatre, and a concert hall. Built over 150 years ago, it seems as though time has stood still in Tivoli, making it a popular destination for locals, too.
The residence of the royal family is Amalienborg Palace, where the presence of the Queen is indicated by a flag on the roof of the castle. Rosenborg Castle, with the royal crown jewels, and the Frederiksborg Castle, with the National Historical Museum, are on the tour program for all who are interested in the Danish royal family.
A main attraction in the evening is the colourful and lively promenade in the Nyhavn (New Harbour; pictured left) with its numerous restaurants and pubs. Here you have another opportunity to chat with your fellow sailors about the adventures of the coming days at sea, or maybe even to 'spin a little sailor's yarn' before you set sail.
Our sailing waters: Øresund, Kattegat and the Swedish skerries
In general, the decision on which port or anchorage to call on in the evening is made by the captain on the same day and depends on the wind and weather conditions – whenever possible, your wishes will be taken into account. This ensures that your cruise is a pleasant mixture of adventure, relaxation, active participation and pure enjoyment.
Look forward to some wonderful days of sailing on the summery brisk Baltic Sea. If you want to, you can take part in the sailing – our professional regular crew will be happy to show you all the tricks of the seaman's trade. Alternatively, you can make yourself comfortable on deck or in the lounge and browse through a good book from the onboard library, or watch a film from our selection of DVDs.
Stopover in Gothenburg
One possible destination of our cruise is the port city of Gothenburg, which we can reach after a nice day of sailing on the Kattegat. Sailing through the archipelago is a task that demands great nautical skill: small rock islands are dispersed tangibly close as we approach the city centre. The 'maritime adventure playground' off the coast of the Swedish provinces of Västergötland and Bohuslän has a diverse landscape, is well protected, visually unique, attractive, and at times can be fairytale-like and dreamy. The city centre of Sweden's second largest city is easy to explore on foot. Numerous coffee houses invite you to linger and watch the world go by. The Stadsmuseet (City Museum) shows a Viking ship found in 1933 and has a small exhibition on the Viking period. For maritime enthusiasts, a visit to the four-mast barque Viking built in 1906 is worthwhile, too. This windjammer – the largest built in Scandinavia – is now a museum ship in the port section of Lilla Bommen.
This is where you will disembark: Oslo / Norway
The focal point of the harbour setting is the town hall with its two distinctive block towers, which hosts the annual awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize. The location of the city in the inner fjord creates a unique atmosphere.
Make the most of your time by exploring the Royal Castle and historic town of Gamlebyen with its exposed medieval city walls. In good weather and clear visibility, you should take a trip to the Holmenkollen Olympic ski jump, which is located above the city and offers a fascinating view of the inner Oslofjord. Museum-goers will relish a visit to the Fram Museum. With the ship exhibited here, Norwegian researchers sailed through the ice of the polar regions. The expeditions of the Norwegians Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, who was the first person to reach the South Pole, are depicted vividly. Adventurer Thor Heyerdahl's raft, Kon-Tiki, has its own museum in Oslo, too. Or start your journey by treating yourself to a visit to the Norwegian Opera. The New Opera House, architecturally modelled on a floating iceberg (pictured right), has become known worldwide since its opening in 2008.
Some exciting and eventful days on the Baltic Sea now lie behind us. Our crew on board will keep you in good memory, and you will most certainly enjoy sharing your experiences with friends 'on shore'.
